The Spanish Government approves defense programs for 7.300 million

Five F110 frigates and 348 8×8 Dragon vehicles will be built for the Army.

The Minister Council of the Spanish Government approved on December 15, 2018 three armament programs totaling 7,331 million euros.

Five F-110 frigates will be built between 2019 and 2032 for 4,325 million; the government will also acquire 348 8×8 vehicles for the Spanish Army, to be delivered before the year 2025, for 2,100 million; and the Eurofighter combat aircraft will be upgraded for 906 million.

The Government has already invested 92 million in the technological programs of the 8×8 vehicle program, awarded to a consortium integrated by Santa Bárbara Sistemas, Indra and Sapa. The impact of the program on employment (650 direct and 1000 indirect jobs) will be especially important in Alcalá de Guadarira (Seville), Trubia (Asturias), Aranjuez (Madrid) and Andoain (Gipuzkoa).
