HONEYWELL and SAPA to Collaborate to Develop Electric Power Systems

Military vehicles will benefit from increased power and operate more efficiently.

PHOENIX, March 2022 – Honeywell (NASDAQ: HON) and SAPA Placencia, a leading provider of electric power solutions and a global leader in heavy-duty vehicle transmissions, have signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) to collaborate on the development of enhanced electric power systems for military vehicles.

Future military vehicles will require more electric power due to their increased complexity. Compared to today’s vehicles, they will be equipped with a greater number of sensors, communications equipment, and information systems to support advanced mission operations. All of these added solutions require more electrical power to operate.

Under the terms of the MOU, Honeywell and SAPA Placencia will work together to deliver a compact, reliable, lightweight, and highly efficient integrated electric power solution with twice the power capacity of those currently equipped in similar vehicles. This improved power generation will ensure that new military vehicles have the power needed to operate successfully in the connected environments of today and tomorrow.
