SAPA OPERACIONES SL is participating in the project «Development of an e-axle electric drive axle for heavy vehicles over 3 tons,» under the Electric Vehicle Aid (PERTE VEC) program funded by the Ministry of Industry, Trade, and Tourism.

SAPA OPERACIONES SL is focused on developing a project entitled «Development of an e-axle electric drive axle for heavy vehicles over 3 tons» and with file number VEC-020100-2022-231. The project aims to develop a novel electric drive axle (e-axle) exclusively for purely electric commercial vehicles, specifically trucks and buses over 3 tons. This project is more efficient, more compact, and offers improved performance (more reliable, safer, and more economical) than current transmission systems on the market.

The project is covered by the line of aid for comprehensive actions in the electric and connected vehicle industrial chain within the Strategic Project for Economic Recovery and Transformation in the Electric and Connected Vehicle Sector (PERTE VEC), within the framework of the Recovery, Transformation, and Resilience Plan financed by the Ministry of Industry, Trade, and Tourism. The primary project is included within the driving project entitled «Solutions to New Electric Mobility Needs Based on Sustainability and Connectivity Criteria» (file number VEC-010000-2022-9), which involves 21 companies spread across the country.

The approved fundable budget for the primary project totals €6,258,950, which the entity has been developing at its facilities since June 2022.
