SAPA is proud to announce the completion of its new manufacturing facility and American headquarters located in Shelby Township, Michigan. This facility is part of a $40.1 million investment the company is making in the state.

The new facility, which covers an area of 10,219 square meters, will be used for the research, development, and manufacturing of transmissions for U.S. Army vehicles. With this facility, SAPA completes the first phase of its strategic plan to position itself as a leading supplier in the U.S. market.

Deniz Balta, Vice President of SAPA Transmission, stated, «SAPA Transmission is committed to Michigan for the long term. Our investment in the state demonstrates our commitment to the U.S. Army and to industrial training in the country.»

The selection of Shelby Township is due to the quality of the region’s talent and its proximity to the U.S. Army Research and Development Engineering Center (GVSC), as well as major customers such as BAE Systems and General Dynamics.

Representative Paul Mitchell, R-Mich., commented, «I applaud their efforts to increase the defense industry’s presence in Michigan and support our soldiers with the best equipment for the job.»

The new plant strengthens SAPA’s ability to provide high-quality, value-added products to its customers, ensuring that soldiers have the best transmissions for their vehicles.
