SAPA showcases its latest mobility technologies at FEINDEF 2023

dd

SAPA was present at the third edition of the International Defense Fair (FEINDEF), exhibiting its latest technological advances in mobility for tracked and wheeled armored vehicles, as well as its onboard electrical power generation and management systems. The SAPA stand featured the ACT 850 transmission for tracked vehicles of up to 50 tons, SAPA’s most advanced transmission. This version of the ACT 850 also incorporates an electric power take-off (PTO) for the first time, allowing the vehicle to be equipped with hybrid mobility if necessary.

SAPA also showcased its SW624 transmission for wheeled vehicles, which is part of the powertrain of the Spanish Army’s Dragon 8×8 vehicle. Along with the aforementioned equipment, SAPA exhibited the various components that make up its Power Generation System (SISGE), which, like the transmission, is part of the powertrain of the Spanish Army’s Dragon 8×8 vehicle.

Also notable at this edition was the presence of TESS DEFENCE, which had its own stand featuring the Army’s new flagship armored vehicle, the Dragon VCR. Various variants of the new Chain Support Vehicle (CSV) were also on display at the TESS DEFENCE stand. Last month, the program was approved, and €1.97 billion will be invested in the acquisition of these new armored vehicles. The first model is expected to enter service in 2027, with deliveries extending over a nine-year period. The first and most substantial improvement to the CSV comes from its improved mobility, protection, and payload capacity, with a maximum mass exceeding 42 tons. The vehicle’s critical mobility element adopts the new ACT 850 transmission, developed by SAPA, for vehicles up to 50 tons.
