Washington D.C., October 15, 2024 – The AUSA 2024 trade show, sponsored by the Association of the United States Army (AUSA), one of the most important global events in the field of defense and security, taking place in Washington D.C. this week, welcomes the presence of the American subsidiary of the Gipuzkoa-based company SAPA, SAPA Transmission Inc., which is exhibiting its ACT850 transmission for vehicles up to 50 tons and the ACT1075, designed for vehicles up to 70 tons, at its own stand and in the official US Army pavilion, opening the door to its application in a wider range of military vehicles such as the future European Main Ground Combat System.

With SAPA’s presence at the trade show, which brings together military leaders, industry representatives, and sector professionals from around the world who come to learn about the latest technological innovations in defense, it continues to strengthen its position in this market. The Spanish company has been collaborating closely with the U.S. Army Ground Vehicle Systems Center (GVSC) in the development of cutting-edge mobility and transmission technologies. This strong partnership has enabled the development of advanced mobility systems (transmissions and powertrains), including the ACT850, already tested under demanding conditions at Yuma and Camp Grayling, integrated into the AMEP (Advanced Mobility Experimental Prototype) vehicle.

SAPA’s participation in AUSA 2024 reflects the remarkable progress of this mid-sized Spanish company in a sector dominated by industrial giants, and the confidence it has gained in a market as competitive as the United States. Visibility at a defense trade show like AUSA represents, for industry experts, a statement of intent and strategic positioning. From the size of the stand to its location, all these details are part of a symbolic hierarchy. In this context, the fact that the US Army is exhibiting a product from a private company in its pavilion is a significant achievement, and the fact that this company is foreign makes it even more remarkable.

Advanced testing will allow gears to be tested under real-world conditions, measure performance parameters, and validate the design of these critical parts.

With this agreement, SAPA strengthens its commitment to innovation and talent development in mobility technologies, contributing to the training of future engineers with experience in real-world problems.
